This collaborative group, the Art House Collective, has worked together in the past. The artists jumped at the chance to work together again as part of Why I Love Canada II. Genevieve was a UVic theatre major who trained extensively in dance in Victoria, B.C. She is a member of the vocal ensemble the Balkan Babes, and believes in a strong connection between music, dance and theatre. Zena danced at Lynda Raino's studio in Victoria for several years, and dances at MoonDance Dynamic Arts School in Shawnigan. She has a degree in Biology and is interested in health, the arts, and gardening. Zena and Genevieve built an earthen home in the Cowichan Valley, where they are inspired by the natural island environment. Laurel (BFA) has been teaching and playing in the Cowichan Valley for over 30 years. Of this project Laurel says, “collaborating with Lynn and the Art House dancers is my latest creative thrill! I love living in Canada and am anticipating this year’s project with great pleasure”. Lynn is a dance maker, educator, performer, director, and advocate. Lynn owns and operates MoonDance Dynamic Arts School, and is Chair of Matoto Multicultural Arts Society. She believes in the transformative power of the Arts, and collaborates regularly with Power of Hope, Canada World Youth, Cowichan Intercultural Society, and other leadership groups on Vancouver Island and abroad. Lynn is co-founder of Inspire! Shawnigan: Arts, Culture, and Heritage Society.
