We love Canada first, out of thankfulness that we have the freedom
to express ourselves spiritually in this country.
We will present a number of digital photography with some
text/quotes/literature printed on canvas (size -+ 150X150cm) along with musical pieces to tie our
work together. This 2D installation piece will be called “Beauty for Ashes”. Our
goal is to present our spiritual unification through photos of the earth we
both live in; of land points in the Cowichan Valley and in Israel,
incorporating plenty of symbolism during the mounting and application process. Our friendship was brought together here in
Canada, and there’s some very strong locations that have sewn our hearts
together in the community that we both shared here. Both of us will be corresponding
via email and later “Skype”, collaborating our digital photographs, which Idit
will be editing, sending to Annette to put together in a sewing manner and
frame it to one piece. Our goal is to blend scenes from Canada and maybe Israel
in hopes to express our journey, what can bind friendships from afar, and how
two lands which could be considered foreign from one another can be brought
together in oneness through the
Spirit of God, in both sweetness and sorrow.
We’ve chosen beeswax as part of our mounting/framing process as it is symbolic
of Ancient of Days, oneness, and of honey.
Our second art work will be composed of a video screen
showing the ocean waves to the sound of Annette’s voice. On each side of the
screen we will have Idit/Annette self-portrait photo facing one another, taken
in the dark to the light of candle being held in beeswax ball. This Art work
will be called “Over the ocean”.
We love Canada as it’s the birth place of our spiritual journey
together, and we are at liberty to collaborate on it publicly.
